Subject [jira] Commented: (HADOOP-2356) Set memcache flush size per column
Date Mon, 04 Feb 2008 01:41:07 GMT

Bryan Duxbury commented on HADOOP-2356:

After all the work we've been doing with trying to optimize flush/compact/split sizes, this
issue seems risky. Exposing this tuning parameter could really allow someone to damage their
HBase instance.

> Set memcache flush size per column
> ----------------------------------
> Key: HADOOP-2356
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-2356
> Project: Hadoop Core
> Issue Type: New Feature
> Components: contrib/hbase
> Reporter: Paul Saab
> Priority: Minor
> The amount of memory taken by the memcache before a flush is currently a global parameter.
 It should be configurable per-table.
