Because java 6 (compiler + runtime) is not available under acceptable license on all platforms,
I think references to functions like File.getFreeSpace should be done in a way that is backwards
compatible with java 5.  I suggest you put all the references to java 6 functions in an optional
jar, with fallback methods for java 5 users.
