Subject [jira] Updated: (HADOOP-2092) Pipes C++ task does not die even if the Java tasks die
Date Wed, 24 Oct 2007 09:15:50 GMT

Devaraj Das updated HADOOP-2092:
--------------------------------

    Fix Version/s: (was: 0.15.0)
                   0.16.0
         Priority: Major (was: Blocker)

I am downgrading the priority to Major since things work in the normal circumstances where
the pipes process tries to communicate with its Java counterpart periodically (through progress
reporting periodically, etc.). But, I still think that we need to handle the case where the
pipes process is doing a long computation (without frequent progress reports) and the Java
side gets killed during that time.
