Nigel Daley commented on HADOOP-1496:

I use Cobertura (http://cobertura.sourceforge.net/) since I find it more actively developed.
From the looks of it, Emma hasn't been updated in a few years. There is, however, a Hudson
plugin for Emma so that we can graph code coverage over time on our build server on http://lucene.zones.apache.org:8080/hudson/

The other option is to use Clover (http://www.cenqua.com/clover/) like the Lucene project.
Lucene has a license to use Clover. Perhaps being a subproject we can use it too. Doug,
do you know?

> Test coverage targets for Hadoop using emma.
> Test coverage will help in identifying the components which are not poperly covered in
tests and write test cases for it.
> Emma (http://emma.sourceforge.net/) is a good tool for coverage.
> If you have something else in mind u can suggest.
> I have a patch ready with emma.
