Milind Bhandarkar commented on HADOOP-1053:
-------------------------------------------

Nigel,

I still cannot understand wy the build and test failed. This is the only output before march4,
2007, 5.58 pm:

../bin/buildPatch.sh: line 16: /export/home/hudson/hudson/jobs/Hadoop-Patch/patch: No such
file or directory
PATCH APPLICATION FAILED
Recording test results
No test report files were found. Configuration error?
Sending e-mails to: ndaley@yahoo-inc.com
finished: FAILURE

Which makes me belive ethat it is a patch-process problem than the patch problem.

> This issue has been created to separate one proposal originally included in HADOOP-941,
for which no consensus could be reached. For earlier discussion about the issue, please see
HADOOP-941.
> I will summarize the proposal here. We need to provide a way for some users who want
to use record I/O framework outside of Hadoop.
