Subject [jira] Updated: (HADOOP-1080) Cygwin path translation should occur earlier in bin/hadoop
Date Wed, 07 Mar 2007 18:52:24 GMT

Doug Cutting updated HADOOP-1080:
---------------------------------

    Fix Version/s: (was: 0.13.0)
                       (was: 0.12.0)

Fix Version should be 0.12.1 alone, since we'll include this in that release. 0.12.0 is already
out the door, so this can't be included there. And this will be implicitly included in all
future releases, so should not appear explicitly in the 0.13.0 release notes.

> When native Linux libraries are present, and bin/hadoop is running under Cygwin, the
part of the script that sets up java.library.path uses un-translated CLASSPATH. This leads
to the (in)famous message:
> Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/hadoop/util/PlatformName
> The fix is to perform the Cygwin translation of the CLASSPATH earlier, before checking
for the native libs.
