Subject [jira] Commented: (HADOOP-615) Sporadic TestEmptyJobWithDFS failure due to NPE is JobTracker.submitJob()
Date Fri, 20 Oct 2006 02:04:36 GMT

Nigel Daley commented on HADOOP-615:
------------------------------------

Looking at the constructor of JobTracker, it looks like JobTracker advertises itself before
it has completed initialization. Given that the constructor is not synchronized, my guess
is that JobTracker.submitJob is getting called before initialization completes, thus myMetrics
is null causing the NPE.
