  No.  This is why it is very important to configure [[http://hadoop.apache.org/hdfs/docs/current/hdfs-default.html#dfs.namenode.name.dir|dfs.namenode.name.dir]]
to write to two filesystems on different physical hosts, use the SecondaryNameNode, etc.
