The javac errors that talk about imports not getting resolved on my
machine right now are:

import org.apache.avalon.excalibur.extension.Extension;
import org.apache.avalon.excalibur.extension.Extension;
import org.apache.avalon.excalibur.extension.DeweyDecimal;
import org.apache.avalon.excalibur.logger.Log4JLoggerManager;
import mx4j.adaptor.rmi.jrmp.JRMPAdaptorMBean;

That doesn't end up in lib/repo/spice-classman/... at all.

The mx4j case is a bit different. The package changed to
mx4j.tools.adaptor.rmi.jrmp with MX4J 2.0.  It's probably to late to
tell mx4j that moving classes around without providing a compatibility
layer is a bad idea. Fortunately mx4j 2.0 has been released, so you
can change the package and upgrade to the latest released mx4j at the
same time.
