Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: GUMP-48
Summary: properties and bootclasspath options should not be passed to scripts
       Type: Bug

     Status: Open
   Priority: Major

    Project: Gump
 Components:
             Python

   Assignee: Stefan Bodewig
   Reporter: Stefan Bodewig

    Created: Thu, 8 Apr 2004 5:54 AM
    Updated: Thu, 8 Apr 2004 7:20 AM

Description:
(Sys)Properties defined in the workspace and dependencies of type
boot lead to -Xbootclasspath or -D command line arguments even if the
build is performed via <script> instead of <ant> or <maven>.

This may lead to the script failing since it cannot deal with the
arguments. See last night's ant-1.5 build on LSD.
