Subject AW: Audio with Hyper-V?
Date Sat, 10 Mar 2018 21:35:43 GMT
Hi Amarjeet,

thanks for getting back on that.

I am using Chrome on the client – I assume the client is relevant and not the browser in
the Hyper-V guest I used to play the video, correct?

I changed the setting you suggested in both the Hyper-V host and client, but the connection
is still showing “No Audio Output Device is installed”. Also the description of the policy
indicates, enabled is only relevant for Windows Server 2008R2 and earlier, but not for Windows
Server 2012 and up or Windows client OS – I am running Hyper-V on Windows 10 Pro. As it
is working with VMConnect, I really suspect a Guacamole or browser issue.

Thanks & Best Regards,

Hi Joachim,

Which browser are you using ?

Note : Guacamole doesn't support audio redirection in IE.

Have you enabled audio redirection from Group policy settings ? Please refer the screenshot.

Thanks and Regards,

kind of inspired by the discussion on video performance, I tried to play one. It turned out
to work pretty well except that audio did not work with my Hyper-V setup. Actually windows
guest tells in the notification area “No Audio Output Device is installed”. I double checked
with VMConnect – with VMConnect audio does work.

According to the Guacamole documentation, audio is enabled with RDP by default. Also with
Hyper-V? Any property I need to check? Or did I miss something else?

Thanks & Best Regards,
