Subject Installing Guacamole, Cannot find the - probably simple - error
Date Tue, 30 May 2017 22:19:24 GMT
Dear all,

I've been at this for hours, and cannot for the life of me see the errror.
I'm not an expert at linux, so if you can help me I'd apprechiate it. It's
23:30 and I can't focus on the screen!

I'm installing guacamole on ubuntu 16.04 LTS

I've been following the guide at
http://www.davewentzel.com/content/guacamole-clientless-rdp-gateway
Almost step by step.

It's been straight forward, with the exception that it gave an error with
step 2 and libjpeg62-turbo-dev, so I changed the command to sudo apt-get
install make libcairo2-dev libpng12-dev freerdp-x11 libssh2-1 libfreerdp-dev
libvorbis-dev gcc libssh-dev libpulse-dev tomcat7 tomcat7-admin
tomcat7-docs

I noticed that it wouldn't support VCN init's summary, so I have loaded
every library in
https://guacamole.incubator.apache.org/doc/gug/installing-guacamole.html#required-dependencies.

I figured, if they were installed then I shuld get full functionality.

Everything worked fine till step 11. sudo update-rc.d guacd defaults
When it errored with update-rc.d: error: initscript does not exist:
/etc/init.d/guacd

I would be very grateful if someone could offer some guidance.

Thanks

Julian

   - add LIBDIR to the `LD_LIBRARY_PATH' environment variable

   - add LIBDIR to the `LD_RUN_PATH' environment variable

   - use the `-Wl,-rpath -Wl,LIBDIR' linker flag
