I'm running Maven 3.5.0 and it didn't resolve when I tried that POM:

[ERROR] Failed to execute goal on project try-groovy-via-mvn: Could not
resolve dependencies for project
me.sunlan:try-groovy-via-mvn:jar:1.0-SNAPSHOT: Failure to find
org.codehaus.groovy:groovy-all:jar:2.5.0 in
https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2 was cached in the local repository,
resolution will not be reattempted until the update interval of central has
elapsed or updates are forced -> [Help 1]
