In your Java version you call awaitCompletion on the new
ExecStartResultCallback:

.exec(
        new ExecStartResultCallback(System.out, System.err)
.awaitCompletion()
);

In your Groovy version you don't, maybe just a mis-placed ending paren?

.exec(new ExecStartResultCallback(System.out, System.err))
.awaitCompletion()
