I have let this go for a while as I gained knowledge of the codebase working on issues more
related to my internship. Coming back, I see bit more where the issues are. But with all the
changes in the code and the changes with upcoming API redesign etc. this must be super stale.
If its OK, I would like to let this lie fallow a bit longer until some of that code is in,
then try to get this patch up to date at that point when some stuff it touches have stabilized.
Is that OK? Thanks for everyone's patience.
