Jason,
I changed to what u suggested, but still got same error.
content of mygbean-plan.xml:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<configuration xmlns="http://geronimo.apache.org/xml/ns/deployment-1.2"
configId="example1/MyGBean">
  <dependency>
    <uri>mygbean.jar</uri>
  </dependency>
  <gbean name="geronimo.example:name=My first simple GBean"
class="example1.MyGBean"/>
</configuration>

Any more ideas?
