Subject [jira] [Resolved] (GERONIMODEVTOOLS-783) Could not replace with temp file error prevents class hot swap
Date Mon, 13 Feb 2012 04:10:59 GMT

Jarek Gawor resolved GERONIMODEVTOOLS-783.

       Resolution: Fixed
    Fix Version/s: 3.0-beta-2
         Assignee: Jarek Gawor

Committed a work-around for this problem in revision 1243411. The work-around ensures that
the same temporary directory is used by PublishHelper and the input file name.

> Class hot swap is not performed because there is an error creating a jar file that contains
the changed classes. GEP calls PublishHelper Eclipse API to generate the jar file and that
fails with the "Could not replace with temp file". From
looks like the problem is related to File.renameTo() issue where the source and destination
are on different file systems.
