Shawn Jiang commented on GERONIMO-4540:
---------------------------------------

my understanding is that

1, "geronimo run" will still pop a windows like before for the user to track startup progress.
2, "geronimo start" will direct the console to a file.

This was the default Linux/Unix behavior before the fix for this JIRA. This JIRA just introduces
the same behavoir to Windows. You can choose the way to startup.

As for the log size growing, it's another isuue and I remember Kevan opened a JIRA for it.

> Now the windows startup batch scripts print the stdout and stderr in a Command Prompt
window, sometimes it is not user-friendly to check error or stdout message for analysis purpose.
> Do we need to improve it, so that the stdout and stderr are redirected to a file, as
did on linux platform?
> Please comment. thanks!
