I used the .tar.gz file.
Here is my gunzip:

For the tar I used, well I used the default one on solaris: /usr/sbin/tar. Is that GNU compliant
? 


For the version, well I really want to use the 2.1.1 for some testing purposes.


FYI, I've seen other people having the same problem (http://archive.netbsd.se/?ml=geronimo-user&a=2008-08&t=8359754),
but did not find the cause.
