Subject [jira] Commented: (GERONIMODEVTOOLS-511) Provide zip download of Geronimo Eclipse Plugin complete with requisites
Date Tue, 09 Sep 2008 01:43:44 GMT

Donald Woods commented on GERONIMODEVTOOLS-511:

Have you looked at the latest test builds of GEP 2.1.3? Ted has reduced and merged the number
of plugins down to one, so your argument about too many plugins has been resolved.

I still would rather not provide a GEP + Eclipse bundle, as all it would be is the Europa
JEE package + our deployable zip. Until I start seeing a large number of GEP users asking
for a "Geronimo Studio" bundle, I still feel like we would be wasting our time building, testing
and supporting such a bundle across at least Windows, Linux and Mac systems to cover the platforms
that Geronimo developers are using today.

> Please provide a zip / tar.gz download of Geronimo Eclipse Plugin complete with all requisites,
inclusive a stripped-down Eclipse itself.
> The zip should not contain eclipse as root folder but rather eclipseGeronimo to not overwrite
the default Eclipse installation.

lots of dependencies you need in the right version.
> Installing via Eclipse-Help-Software Updates does not work either as the Update manager
is not smart enough to install requisites:
> Geronimo v1.0 Server Adapter (2.0.0) requires feature "org.eclipse.jst (2.0.0)", or compatible

out how the firewall options of ant work.
