Subject [jira] Commented: (GERONIMO-2283) Common libs portlet guesses wrong group ID, gives no usage advice

Vamsavardhana Reddy commented on GERONIMO-2283:

Regarding the groupId part of the issue, I am noticing on Windows that the groupId filled
in upon selecting a file is the directory name in which the jar file is located. I don't
see much of a problem with that. The problem I notice is with the artifactId and version.
When I select a file like "utils-1-r118.jar", the filled in artifactId is "utils-1" and version
is "r118".

> When selecting a file for the repository portlet, it selected the version number as the
group ID. It should probably default to a blank group ID and make the user enter it -- the
best it can select from the file name is probably the artifact, version, and type.
> Also, it should have an option where you pick a JAR and it gives you the dependency syntax
you need to add that JAR to the classpath for an application or other Geronimo module.
