Paul,  Thanks for reviewing the patch.

 I have quickly created these patches reusing the javascipt validation code available in forms.js.
 Forms internal names could be changed to match with the display names to some extent.  Or
else a mapping of display names to the form internal names can be used.

The purpose of javascript validation is to reduce load on the server by filtering out trivial
errors at the client end itself.
