The source code for the specifications is available.  I'd be happy to take a shot at adding
it to the specs project and attach the results. It's also available at the link above. Is
there an Apache legal review that needs to happen before the specification code can become
part of Geronimo?

Commonj timers aren't persistent or transactional.  After an initial look at the current EJB
timer code, my thought was that commonj timers could be used as a building block and layered
underneath the EJB timer service.  I'm still evaluating exactly what could be done there.

You are right about the bug.  I've been thinking about what to do and my current thought is
to implement fixed delay timers as a sequence of one off timers, instead of the way it is
done right now.
