Clarification of references
---------------------------

         Key: GERONIMO-1018
         URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMO-1018
     Project: Geronimo
        Type: Improvement
  Components: kernel
    Versions: 1.0-M5
    Reporter: Aaron Mulder
     Fix For: 1.0-M5

Why is it that this works:

<references>
  <pattern>
    <gbean-name>geronimo.server:name=Foo</gbean-name>
  </pattern>
</references>

But this does not work:

<references>
  <pattern>
    <name>Foo</name>
  </pattern>
</references>

(Both to refer to a GBean in the same plan declared with <gbean name="Foo" ...)

Maybe this is a bug, maybe it's an error of understanding on my part.
