David Jencks commented on GERONIMO-693:
---------------------------------------

I talked to Jason van Zyl who strongly recommends Java Service Wrappers which provides scripts
for numerous platfomrs and various kinds of daemon restart functionality. See http://wrapper.tanukisoftware.org/doc/english/history.html

Jason uses it with continuum.

I suggest we include all the JSW stuff in scripts, including a subdirectory for the JSW jar(s)

> It would be nice to have obvious startup.sh and startup.bat scripts in the bin directory
so that the user doesn't need to look at the README file to figure out how to start the server.
(java -jar bin/server.jar isn't hard -- it's just not quite as brainless as a script called
"startup").
