Isn't this the palace of deployment descriptors?  We have this same 
problem is CMP.  May administrators find it scary to auto map a cmp 
bean to their database, but that is exactly what users demand.  Anyway, 
I think anything you can do with a gui tool we need to support in our 
batch command line tool.  This is also the interface that maven and ant 
builds will use, so I strongly we really do need to support this 
without user interaction (and without having to write vendor deployment 
descriptors).
