I like like to clarify ..... (*)it is NOT the load balancer that initiates "auto-partitioning" but rather it is each(any) of the individual servers (all from A - J) who initiate the process Let me state the process again ... Each node (A-J) has a list of ALL the nodes present( A-B-C-D...-J) and the current cutover_count (5). When a Node senses increase in traffic it will start the process by sending a RE_ORGANIZE signal, along with the list (A-B- C-D...J) & new cutover_count (5-1=4) to all nodes. see note on Re-organization to know details on how re-org. works. Thus what we are doing in effect is reducing our expectations of load-balancer's capabilities to being a mere router that routes 1. NEW requests in a round robin fashion and 2. existing-session-requests to appropriate servers. I think that Vivek's idea of using INT should work immaterial of WHICH LB we use.
