The Geronimo project is divided into two distinct module types: "specs" and 
"modules". The module type "specs" is the raw flat J2EE API and the module 
type "modules" is implementation specific.

The "specs" module type is what you are looking for. If you are only 
interested by the binary if the J2EE API, checkout the project, build the 
"specs" module type (maven -Dmodules.types=specs). The J2EE API are then in 
$MAVEN_HOME/repository/geronimo-spec/jars/
