Human-readable, flat-file-based persistency for the directory db is
something that could work if it was implemented so that
online-configuration is done against the directory/db, but configuring
from the flat-file was still possible when the server was not running.
This would eliminate some of the problems. However, file-formatting and
comments would propably be lost each restart making the usability of the
configuration file very bad.
