Subject Re: J2EE DeploymentManager ( was J2EE deployment verifier)

Think, this verifier could be a seperate project (or a subproject of
geronimo), which can verify J2EE modules and complete EARs for geronimo
and other app servers using plugins (one for geronimo, one for oc4j, one
for sun's ri, etc.).

What do you think about that?

The verifier should give the user useful warnings and error messages.

Even geronimo should give the user useful error messages, when it
compiles JSPs or EJB wrapper code - not just like Sun's J2EE RI: "Error
opening/saving"... ("What does that *** thing expect???")

2.x, EJB 1.1 etc. Maybe we shold put these on the wiki instead?

- - do remote interfaces use serializable arguments and return types
- - check validity of references (correct type: local/remote ejb, JDBC
data source, JMS queue/topic factory/destination, etc) - maybe by
querying the app server
