While it is generally a good idea if you plan on printing out your code, I
find code forced into the 80 character limit somewhat harder to read when you
have long class names and method names, and compound expressions into one line.

You can separate out some of the expression into multiple lines, but there is
a limit to when it becomes less readable than just putting it all on one line.

IOW, I agree with you.

Although, judicious use of vertical space to separate a grouping of code inside
a method does help.
