I'll take your word for it that existing .project and .classpath files in
CVS would not be affected by adding it to the global cvsignore (some quick
testing showed it to be OK); and all instances of maven.log,v are already
in the Attic, so I'm more confident that is safe.  Based on all this I've
added maven.log, .project and .classpath into the global cvsignore.  If I
get complaints from other projects about this, though, I may have to
change that back.
