I just tried that, but the result is the same, one entry in the patch
file for the directory diff. (The source file is, of course, of non-zero
length ;))

Have I missed some kind of add element stage (that's what I'd do with
clearcase) - I did some google searches but could not seem to find an
equivalent.

Appreciate your help on this.....
