Subject [jira] [Created] (GEODE-1888) One should not have to "create" a Client PROXY region
Date Tue, 13 Sep 2016 22:59:21 GMT
Swapnil Bawaskar created GEODE-1888:

             Summary: One should not have to "create" a Client PROXY region
                 Key: GEODE-1888
             Project: Geode
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: regions
            Reporter: Swapnil Bawaskar

A Client PROXY region is just a handle to a Region that exists on the server, yet with the
current API one has to "create" this region like so:
ClientRegionFactory<Integer, String> clientRegionFactory = cCache.createClientRegionFactory(ClientRegionShortcut.PROXY);
        Region<Integer, String> myRegion = clientRegionFactory.create("myRegion");

"Creating" a region on the client, does not create the region on the server, so I would like
to suggest that we add a {{getRegion(String regionName)}} API to the ClientCache.
