Can we confirm the version of GemFire that they are actually using?  The log files do not
capture the version header and looking at the classpath suggests this might be an 8.1.0X version
which is not supported on JDK 8 ( from he_err file the vm arguments point to the following
/opt/gemfire_server-81/lib/gemfire.jar ).
