Well it would be great if this could just be some kind of syntactic sugar, so this:

<#if conditionToSkip> 
    <#continue
</#if>
<execute>
{code}

Could be just syntactic sugar for:

{code:xml}
<#if conditionToSkip> 
<#else>
    <execute>    
</#if>
{code}
