Subject WYSIWYG testing of new CSS-settings on your Forrest-site with FireFox and EditCSS
Date Fri, 05 Nov 2004 07:24:33 GMT

I discovered a way of testing and developing new CSS-settings on a
given Forrest installation.

Required: Firefox Browser in current version (a must have anyway!)
Install: EditCSS-Extension that can be found http://editcss.mozdev.org/
(Tiny download, takes only seconds to install)

Use:

1. Now open your Forrest site in Forefox
2. Select menu item View-Sidebar-EditCSS
3. Select Action-Reload from Sidebar Menu

The sidebar will now show the currently used stylesheet for your
Forrest-page. Any change to the styles will immediately show in the
Forrest-page.

Example:

1. Find '#tabs' and change the fontsize to 50%.

As soon as you type it, you can see the fontsize of the tabs shrink.
I think this is as close to WYSIWYG-editing of styles as you can get.

Should I put this into a howto?
