That is what forrest is all about. 

input -> intermediate format -> output

You can create plugins from your code, however I suspect that you will
find many plugin code for your use case (all the formats you mentioned
above are supported out-of-the-box). In this case best would be
extending the existing forrest plugins (if you need extra
functionality).
