You could start Jetty in debugmode and connect from ecplipse to it:
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/JETTY/Debugging+Jetty+with+Eclipse

Eclipse would show you the piece of code actually running in jetty.
After work, commit your changes from the workspace to SVN.
