The idea of writing to site.xml is not supported by everyone in the discussion (i.e. the only other participant, me). However, since it gets written *only* by running a specific forrest target I'm OK with it.

I prefer Davids suggestion, which was to have Forrest output an index, mapping site -> locatiomap in various useful ways.

I see this target also generating that documentation. We can use some configuration information to turn on/off the idea of writing back to site.xml
