Subject [jira] Updated: (FOR-629) Plugins as Blocks
Date Sat, 13 Aug 2005 10:20:54 GMT

Ross Gardler updated FOR-629:
-----------------------------

    Fix Version: 0.8-dev

A first step in this would be to use the new wiring.xml functionality in Forrest this enables
plugins to have dependencies between one another and call pipeline matches in specific (related)
sitemaps.

There is currently no documentation for this feature in Cocoon, but you can see an example
its use at http://svn.apache.org/viewcvs.cgi/cocoon/trunk/src/webapp/ (start at the wiring.xml
file)

> The Cocoon folk gave us an overview of the forthcoming Blocks
> implementation in Cocoon. This basically allows new functionlaity to be
> loaded into Cocoon quickly and easily. There is audio of their
> presentation and our subsequent questions in SVN.
> I think our current plan is to watch closely as the Cocoon folk get
> things going and to start experimenting as soon as the itch gets strong
> enough.
> This issue is the result of an ApacheCon discussion, more, including links to the original
