Subject [JIRA] Commented: (FOR-364) Add Ctrl-C-Info to Jetty Startup-Messages
Date Thu, 24 Mar 2005 07:20:18 GMT
The following comment has been added to this issue:

     Author: Ferdinand Soethe

       Body:
"trigger the query" is not something I wanted to happen but the result of pressing Ctrl-C
in Windows-Systems. It pops up because Ctrl-C is also the key to abort batch processing.

That's why I suggested "To stop the Forrest/Jetty server, press Ctrl-C, answer [N]o to the
following question and press Enter to confirm." to be the message (on windows systems).

Even better would be to have a different key to stop the server that does not have this side
effect.

Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: FOR-364
Summary: Add Ctrl-C-Info to Jetty Startup-Messages
       Type: Improvement

     Status: Unassigned
   Priority: Minor

    Project: Forrest
 Components:
             Launch 'forrest run'

   Assignee:
   Reporter: Ferdinand Soethe

    Created: Thu, 11 Nov 2004 3:34 AM
    Updated: Thu, 24 Mar 2005 1:19 AM

Description:
At the moment it is guesswork how to properly end a "forrest run" session. Even more confusing
that Ctrl-C (the only way to do it) will also trigger the query if you want to abort batch
processing.

A short info that is written just before the server is active should inform the user about
the proper procedure:

"To stop the Forrest/Jetty server, press Ctrl-C, answer [N]o to the following question and
press Enter to confirm."
