Well the symptoms are exactly the same (except 7) as what I experience 
but the process you use to reach it is different. I just tested Forrest 
0.6 (i.e. not using my custom OpenOffice.org stuff) and it works fine.

I'm afraid I don't know what to suggest, but the fact that Open Office 
will no longer open your file does not sound good with respect to the 
correctness of your modified Open Office document.
