+1 - I would prefer the navigation to be on the side.

Also - (I'm interested in this as I'm try to put technical manuals int HTML
and would like ulitimately to get chapter numbering and appendix lettering
into the navigation elements) - what chance of adding section numbering into
the navigation elements? Perhaps involving adding a "SectionName" attribute
to files in site.xml, containing text to be pre-pended to the navigation
text.

e.g -
<manual>
  <ch1 label = "Chapter 1" href="..."  description="..." SectionName="1." />
  <ch2 label = "Chapter 2" href="..."  description="..." SectionName="2." />
  <AppA label = "Appendix A" href="..."  description="..." SectionName="A."
/>
</manual>

(Are all site.xml attributes passed through to the XSL transforms, so that I
could do this myself if I wanted to, or would this need chnages to DTDs etc
etc?)
