I don't know why exactly that worked at my job but I think that should 
not work always! I just repeated that and it was not working!

as last stylesheet! Like:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="{$root}skin/print.css" type="text/css"
                 media="print" />
<link rel="stylesheet" href="{$root}skin/profile.css" type="text/css" />

and the profile is working.
