Subject [Proposal] policy about versions of supporting jars
Date Sat, 31 Jul 2004 05:15:28 GMT
It would be preferable if we do not need to wait for
official releases of supporting jar archives.

For example, Cocoon has a lot of bug fixes and improvements,
but it takes them ages to make an official release.
(yeah, us too :-) There is also a big one fixed at Xalan
which affects us (FOR-238).

If we do this, then we need to clearly mark the jar name
to match an exact SVN|CVS snapshot, e.g. GMT timestamp,
or svn revision number, or both.

So, does anybody have a problem with using unreleased
versions of our supporting products?
