Alain,

There is an entry in the FAQ explaing how to enable headless operation
(using forrest without an X11 server):

http://xml.apache.org/forrest/faq.html#headless_operation

You can use the forrest.jvmargs system property to enable headless
operation, like this:

forrest -Dforrest.jvmargs=-Djava.awt.headless=true site

This works only on Java >=1.4, I believe.

Please verify if this works for you.
