Subject Forrest won't install on Linux (JAVA_HOME is not defined correctly)
Date Fri, 14 Mar 2003 22:07:20 GMT
Hello!

I couldn't find anything addressing this problem under Linux in the archives...

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

I'm trying to install Forrest on a Linux computer (RedHat 8.0, 2.4.18-24.8.0 kernel).

Java is installed at

$ echo $JAVA_HOME
/var/java/j2sdk1.4.1_01/

and other programs can see it OK.

Upon running ./build.sh dist in the Forrest CVS directory I get this:

$ ./build.sh dist
Using classpath: "./lib/endorsed/xalan-2.4.1.jar:./lib/endorsed/xercesImpl-2.1.0.jar:./lib/endorsed/xml-apis.jar:./lib/endorsed/xsltc.jar"
Error: JAVA_HOME is not defined correctly.
  We cannot execute java

Please advice!

Thanks again!

Sergey
