Wohoo.. thanks for reporting, I'll add this to the release notes.

Could you try renaming 'forrest' to "Apache Forrest" and see if it still
works?

The problems were NoClassDefFoundErrors caused by mangled classpaths.

Forrest does print a reasonably informative message if run without a
preceding 'seed':

Use the 'seed' target to create a template project structure.
