project-info.xml gets read by an Ant task that generates Ant properties from
it.
The properties generated have, as a name, "xml" followed by the parents
separated by a dot and the tag name.
If this file were:

<a>
  <b>content</b>
  <c>
    <d>other content</d>
  </c>
</a>

Ant would get these properties:

xml.a.b=content
xml.a.c.d=content

Attributes are treated as defined above.
